As they move forward towards their learning goals, some may need some extra support for social-emotional growth. The counselling department together with the inclusion team, teachers and parents give that extra support that they need though individual or group counselling. The school counselling department addresses educational, academic, career, personal, and social needs of all students within the school setting, from Foundation years to Sixth Form.

Counselling

Counselling offers the opportunity to talk about any situation that is a concern. It’s a time that expand is set aside just for student student. To help students express difficult feelings or thoughts. GEMS Metropoles counselling team works on the principles of confidentiality, acceptance and active listening. Counselling is a process which helps student to understand, accept and develop coping skills to understand their strengths and limitations.

All the above mentioned forms of counselling are taken up in Individual sessions or Group Sessions.

Careers Counselling Centre

GEMS Metropole, we aim that all students upon leaving will be in a position to make confident, informed and well-structured decisions about their futures. The primary objective of the Careers Support team is to therefore provide, all students with the knowledge and required skills to make informed decisions about their career paths.

The program functions as a guide to students in planning academic choices for grades 9 to 13, exploring career interest and opportunities and guiding them through the university admissions and selection process. The needs of the students are catered through various career related activities such as workshops, seminars, guest lectures, presentations and interviews. They will also be informed on the various education fairs and roadshows happening around town.

Through the career counselling service the students are motivated to be focused on improving their academic performance and developing their strengths. This service emphasizes on preparing the students to anticipate challenges and plan ahead to face these challenges with confidence and a balanced composure.
