Gary Saunt

My name is Mr. Gary Saunt and I am proud to be the Head of Physical Education at GEMS Metropole School. In September 2018 I joined the GEMS network, moving to Dubai and working at GEMS Wellington Silicon Oasis and then making the exciting move to GEMs Metropole to be the Head of Physical Education in February 2021. Prior to moving to Dubai, I was teaching in London, UK and I was fortunate to have worked and gained experience in various roles, such as; Head of Key Stage 4, Deputy Head of Year and Head of Boys Rugby.

Physical Education not only provides students with opportunities to experience many different sports and physical activities, it equips students with the opportunities to develop and adopt lifelong healthy habits. Physical Education develops resilience and perseverance for each individual and provides them with a positive outlook for their future. I am incredibly passionate about providing students with the teaching tools to ensure they progress throughout their learning journey.

I enjoy travelling and exploring Dubai with its fantastic culture. I keep myself fit and healthy by going to the gym and I have recently taken up golf lessons. I am enjoying exploring the different courses that Dubai has to offer.

I am incredibly enthusiastic about the future for GEMS Metropole, as the school is flourishing and growing with an exciting and ambitious team helping to drive this forward.
