Tahir Ali
Head of Visual Arts
My name is Mr. Tahir Ali and I am proud to be the Head of Visual Arts at GEMS Metropole. I have obtained a BA (HONS) degree in Graphic Design from the University of Hertfordshire UK, and a PGCE in Art & Design from Roehampton University, UK. I have had 14 successful years working in education, with 11 years’ experience working in London and am now commencing my third year at GEMS Metropole School. I have been fortunate to work as a Teacher, Head of Art, Head of Year and a Princes Trust Advisor.
My lesson delivery is based on a pedagogical philosophy of taking a hands-on and enthusiastic approach to teaching and creating a learning environment that is characterized by empathy, mutual support and, above all, an inclusion of all pupils. I wish to be in a position where I can educate, encourage and inspire young people to use their talents and abilities to succeed in life. Learning how teaching can shape a person’s future has inspired me to take on that responsibility and be able to create opportunities through the teaching of Art & Design.
In my spare time I enjoy visiting galleries and museums. I am an active member of the gym and participate in football on a weekly basis. I have also been involved in charity events, within my local community.
