Siobhán Scanlan

Deputy Head of Inclusion

My name is Siobhan Scanlan and I moved to Dubai from Ireland in 2016 after completing my studies and working in an international school in Dublin for three years.

Since joining Metropole in 2016, I have worked in Foundation Stage and across the school with the Inclusion Department. I worked in Foundation Stage both as a classroom teacher and a pastoral leader. GEMS Metropole has given me invaluable experience in supporting families from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds as well as helping me develop my passion of working with Students of Determination.

In 2018, I was delighted to take the position of Deputy Head of Inclusion in our wonderful Inclusion Department. Working in the Inclusion Department allowed me to gain valuable experience in helping children of all abilities to reach their full potential. This year I look forward to continuing helping teachers throughout the school provide quality first education for each child in the class. I also look forward to supporting you as parents to help and support your child through these formative years in their schooling career.

In 2021, the Inclusion Department had the pleasure of adding the Unity Class to our alternative curriculum pathways. The addition of the Unity Classroom is a valuable asset to Metropole in supporting a wide range of students and families. As a class teacher, I am delighted to welcome our Unity students to school and ensuring their dynamic and engaging inclusion in the curriculum and our MTS community. Inclusion at GEMS Metropole strives to be outstanding in our support to students, families and teachers and we look forward to striving towards that together in academic year 2022-2023.
