Head of Phonics and Spoken Language
My name is Michaela March and I am very excited to start my third year at GEMS Metropole School. I am originally from Bristol, England where I studied Early Childhood (Hons) at the University of the West of England. I then went on to complete a PGCE in Early Years.
I graduated as a teacher in 2016 and shortly after moved to the UAE. This was a great opportunity to learn more about the Arab culture, meet new people from all other world and develop my skills as a teacher. So far, I have learned many things from living in the UAE and I am excited to keep on learning.
My desire to pursue a career in teaching has grown as I have acquired more experience with a range of young children. I have worked with families 1:1 who need support, in nurseries, tutoring, in Primary Schools and in Special Educational Need schools. I genuinely want to contribute to our future generation by assisting children on their personal learning journey.
I motivate pupils to achieve their personal best in all areas by teaching engaging and memorable lessons. I strongly believe in promoting successful and independent learners who have a very good understanding of the curriculum as well as positive moral values.
I look forward to meeting you and your children and starting our own learning journey together.
