Mohammad Mosafeer

Assistant Headteacher of Secondary

Mohammad Mosafeer is joining GEMS Metropole School as Assistant Headteacher of Secondary.

He is an experienced educator and school leader with over 10 years of Mathematics teaching experience across the UK and the UAE, including five years as Head of Mathematics in both settings. Mohammad holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from City St George's, University of London, and a Master's degree in Education from the University of Southampton. Throughout his career, he has taught a wide range of courses, including GCSE Mathematics, A-Level Mathematics, A-Level Further Mathematics, and the IB Diploma Programme.

Mohammad's educational philosophy is centred on the belief that every student can succeed when provided with the right balance of support, challenge, and high expectations. He is passionate about developing students' confidence, fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills while creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.

As a leader, Mohammad has a particular interest in using data and assessment to enhance teaching, learning, and student outcomes. He believes that the effective use of assessment enables schools to provide targeted support, identify barriers to progress, and ensure that every student is appropriately challenged. He is also passionate about teaching and learning, curriculum development, staff development, and the effective integration of technology to improve educational outcomes. Mohammad believes that collaboration, consistency, and strong relationships are fundamental to building a successful and thriving school culture.

Outside of education, Mohammad enjoys cooking a variety of cuisines, with a particular passion for Mauritian cuisine, reflecting his family heritage. He often says that if he had not pursued a career in education, he would have become a head chef and owned his own restaurant. He lives in Dubai with his wife and their two primary school-aged children. As a family, they enjoy exploring new places, spending time with family and friends, and being active members of the wider school community.

Mohammad looks forward to contributing to the continued success of GEMS Metropole School and to supporting both students and staff in achieving excellence.
