World Scholar's Cup

World Scholar’s Cup at GEMS Metropole School
The World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) is a prestigious international academic competition that challenges students to think critically, debate passionately, and collaborate creatively across a wide range of subjects. At MTS, WSC is offered as a special provision for our Gifted & Talented students, it offers a unique opportunity to stretch high achievers beyond the classroom and develop their global awareness, confidence, and teamwork.
Over the past year, our students have achieved remarkable success:
- More than 250 medals earned across all events at the 2025 Regional Round
- All teams qualified for the Global Round, competing against top scholars from around the world
- Teams and individual students achieved 1st Place across all events at the Regional Round.
- Special awards in Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, and the Scholar’s Bowl
- At the 2024 Global Round in Kuala Lumpur, all teams qualified for the Tournament of Champions at Yale University
- At the 2024 Tournament of Champions, teams placed in the top 10% in the world and 3rd Place in the Middle East.
These achievements reflect not just academic strength, but also the creativity, leadership, and resilience of our students.
What’s next? We are now preparing for the upcoming Global Round in Bangkok, with eyes set on returning to the Tournament of Champions in November. Our next cohort of WSC scholars is ready to take on the challenge—and the alpacas!
