Ammaarah Khan
Teacher of PE
My name is Ammaarah Khan, and I am excited to join the Physical Education Department at GEMS Metropole School this year.
I am from England and graduated from The University of Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science (with Honours) degree in Sport, Physical Education, and Coaching Science. I also qualified as a Secondary Physical Education teacher through The University of Birmingham and have spent four years teaching PE. During this time, I have had the opportunity to be involved various extracurricular activities, including sporting competitions and residentials.
In addition, I hold coaching qualifications in Trampolining, Swimming, Football, and Basketball. My academic qualifications and practical experience have shaped my understanding of how physical education and sport can serve as powerful tools for developing character, resilience, and leadership skills in students.
I have always been passionate about sport, particularly football, and have a strong background in competitive play, having competed at both the club and university levels. I have also coached secondary school football teams, helping them develop both their skills and confidence—leading to notable success. I am eager to bring my passion and experience to Metropole to inspire and nurture talent. I am dedicated to developing and inspiring students, helping them believe in their ability to succeed through a growth mindset, strategies that build confidence, and a focus on uncovering their potential.
My pedagogical approach is holistic, focusing on the development of the whole student—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. By fostering a positive atmosphere, I encourage students to take risks, build resilience, and develop a lifelong love for sport and physical education.
I enjoy traveling, experiencing new cultures, and staying active through sports, whether it's for competition or just for fun. Watching sports and spending time with friends and family are also important to me. I am always on the lookout for new restaurants, especially for brunch.
I am looking forward to working with the Metropole community and supporting students in Physical Education and Sport, helping them improve and reach their goals.
