Brad Owako

My name is Brad Nashon Owako and I am a swim teacher at GEMS Metropole.I have been teaching for 4 years .I hold a swim England Level 2 accredation ,a cache level 3 certificate and a number of other speciality coaching qualifications. My specialist sport is Rugby Union and I was fortunate enough to represent my country Kenya in various International matches. I then played rugby proffesionally for 2 years in Spain before I decided to get into teaching.

Over my teaching career I have worked in a number of schools in the UAE. I have held different positions such as an assistant P.E teacher,swim teacher and at times doubling up as a football coach and rugby coach.

In my personal time I enjoy water sports, football,coaching rugby and playing it as well. I currently play rugby for the Dubai hurricanes and as well coach their under 16 girls team. I am passionate about using sport as a tool to help young adults develop in a culture of Respect, responsibility and cammeraderie .

Since I started working in Gems Metropole I have come to see and know a culture of kindness and family.As a school we have the best sports set up from early years, the school teams are called ‘Mustangs’ . As long as sport is big in Gems Metropole the more we continue to have a positive impact to the community.
