Myles Worthe
Head of Humanities
My name is Myles Worthe, and I am originally from Manchester, UK. I hold a BA (Hons) in History from Warwick University (2009) and completed my PGCE in 2015. I am now entering my eleventh year in education, having taught in the UK, the UAE, and Malaysia.
I am passionate about teaching history and developing students’ skills in historical enquiry. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is hearing students confidently discuss past events and engage in debate with one another. With extensive experience in KS4 and KS5 examinations, I understand the specific demands of assessment in my subject and focus on coaching students to achieve their best possible outcomes. I closely monitor assessment data to ensure student development is personalised and targeted.
In my new role as Head of Humanities, I am committed to ensuring that History, Geography, and Travel & Tourism remain strong, well-regarded subjects at Metropole. We are proud of our outstanding results at KS4 and KS5 and will continue working hard to maintain this success.
Beyond the classroom, I enjoy endurance sports, including triathlons and ultramarathons. This summer, I completed my fourth Ironman in Spain and have participated in trail races up to 100km. I look forward to leading cross-country groups again this year and encouraging all students to get involved in sport.
I am excited to embrace the challenges of the year ahead—and confident that it will be the best one yet.
