How to begin your child's journey...

Admission Age

Students must have turned the following ages by December 31st in the academic year they wish to enter to enter the respective grade:

3 years old Foundation Stage 1
4 years old Foundation Stage 2
5 years old Year 1


Admission-Related Fees

Registration Fee (non-refundable, non-transferrable: payable when applying for admission): Dhs500

Entry/Admission Fee (payable upon accepting a place): Dhs2,000

To Apply For Admission

To apply for admission to GEMS Metropole School, Motor City, you must fill out an Enquiry. An Enquiry is an online application form.

Application Process

Step 1: Click here to be taken to the Enquiry page.

Step 2: The first part of the application will require:

  • Parent/Guardian’s name
  • Relationship to the applicant
  • Valid email address (your Enquiry reference number will be sent here)
  • Contact number
  • Applicant’s name
  • Applicant’s date of birth
  • Year level being applied for

Step 3: Submit the above information.

An Enquiry has been created at this point. You may complete it immediately or continue it when you chose.

Step 5: Check the inbox of the email address provided to find your Enquiry reference number. Do not lose this number.

Step 6: Return to the Enquiry page and complete your admission application.

You may include siblings in this application.

You have the option to ’Save and Continue Later’ at all times during the process.

Step 7: Once you have completed the entire Enquiry, you will receive another email informing you of the documents you must take to the school registrar to complete the admission application.

Generally, these documents are:

  • 2 photocopies of the following:
  • Applicant’s passport
  • Parent’s passport
  • Applicant’s UAE Residence Visa
  • Birth Certificate
  • Photocopy of the applicant’s Emirates ID Card (both sides)
  • Vaccination record/s

In addition to:

  • 4 recent passport sized photographs of the applicant
  • Report cards from the previous 2 years’ (for admission to Year 1 upwards)
  • Reports relating to a student’s additional support requirements, where applicable

An attested Transfer Certificate will be required when securing a place at the school. This can be obtained from the child's previous school.

Step 8: Take these documents, making a note of your Enquiry number, to the registrar at the school, and make the registration fee (Dhs500) payment.

Step 9: The registrar will call you for an interview and/or assessment.

Step 10: Come to the school at the arranged time for the interview/assessment.

Step 11: If a place has been offered, you will receive a call from the school on the number provided in the Enquiry.

Step 12: Make the Entry/Admission Fee payment (Dhs2,000) to secure the place.

Assessment Test

Assessment tests are held by members of our Faculty Team and give us an opportunity to see each applicant's’ abilities in various fields (including English and Mathematics) and their ability to interact with our team. This is important as we want to ensure that our curriculum is suited to each individual child’s needs.

For entry into Foundation Stage and Year 1: an observation assessment, where basic letters, numbers, shapes, colours and sounds will be presented to the child. For Year 1, a handwriting test will also be required.

For entry to Year 2 upwards: a written English and Mathematics test will be held.

Our Faculty Team are trained in student development and are aware that each child is different and unique with varying abilities.
