Zoe Joslin

Head of Foundation Subjects & Deputy Head of Moral, Social and Cultural Studies

Hello, my name is Zoe Joslin and I am from a little town called Battle in the South East of England. In September, I will be a Year 6 class teacher for my second year here at GEMS Metropole. Prior to living in the UAE I have taught Year 3 and 5 in Hastings, England where I was the Head of Maths and Geography.

I graduated in 2016 after completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Exeter. I then followed my studies with a year teaching  PE in a primary and secondary setting in Bristol. The following year I completed my PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church Unviersity.

In my spare time I enjoy lots of different hobbies including reading, travelling, exploring the outdoors and sport. My main passion is rugby, which I have played since I was 11 years old, representing many teams at different standards.

I am an enthusiastic and caring teacher who is determined to create a fun, engaging learning environment for all abilities that enables children to thrive and achieve their potential and beyond. I have high expectations in the classroom that encourage children to be resilient and persevere in accessing the national curriculum and where possible challenge them to make maximum progress.

I believe all children should feel comfortable and confident within their learning environment to enable the best possible chance of achieving their goals and challenges. Therefore I am a friendly and approachable teacher who aspires to make all learning memorable in an engaging and supportive atmosphere.

I believe family involvement is key to children’s success at school therefore I will be sharing learning with families and communicating frequently. I  can’t wait to help guide the children through their final year of junior school and share their journey with you.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone in my new class, working together and continuing to be part of the welcoming GEMs Metropole community once again.
