Breandan Casey

Head of Year 6

My name is Breandan Casey and I am Head of Year 6.

I am from Cork in south of Ireland. I have a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Limerick and in 2020, I completed a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Portsmouth.

I have ten years of teaching experience, including five years in Year 6. I have worked in a variety of schools all over the world, including Thailand, Spain, Ireland and the UAE. As an educator, my philosophy revolves around providing each student with the opportunity to express themselves as learners and ensuring they receive a comprehensive and holistic education. I firmly believe in nurturing their individuality and empowering them to explore their interests.

I place high importance on instilling the Metropole school values such as compassion, empathy and respect in students. I am dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment for Year 6 students where they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf and football as well as scuba diving. Additionally, I love playing musical instruments such as the saxophone and classical flute.

The Year 6 team and I are really excited to get to know the students and lead them on their educational and personal journeys throughout the coming year!
