Lorraine De Souza

Head of Year 11

My name is Miss Lorraine De Souza, Head of Year 11.

This is my 6th year at GEMS Metropole School. I graduated with a First-Class Honors degree in Computing and Business Management from Kingston University, UK in 2009 and proceeded to complete my PGCE in Information Technology at Kings College University of London in 2011 after taking a break to travel. I worked in an Academy for 6 years as, a Head of Department, Head of Year 12 and a Coordinator of Business and Computing. I enjoyed the challenges the roles created however, I decided to take on a different experience and start a new chapter here in Dubai.

This year I am thrilled to step into the role of Head of Year 11 and work with our fantastic students through a pivotal time in their academic lives. I am

committed to supporting each one of them in achieving their goals. There are so many talented students within the school, and I am constantly proud of these young individuals and the amazing futures they strive for and achieve.

I love my job because of the students I interact with. When I am not teaching, I love to travel and explore other cultures or socialise with friends in nice restaurants, so feel free to share your favourite places with me – I’m always looking for new spots to visit.
