Aneera Jamshed

SEN Support Teacher (Year 1 and Year 2)

I am a dedicated Inclusion Specialist with nearly a decade of experience supporting neurodiverse learners and students with a wide range of educational, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Currently in my second year at GEMS Metropole School, I employ a holistic, evidence-informed approach that foregrounds emotional wellbeing as a foundational pillar of academic success and personal growth.

Holding an MSc in Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Psychological Practice from the University of Edinburgh, I bring a strong theoretical grounding in developmental psychology, psychopathology, and trauma-informed practice. My dual training as a Mental Health Therapist and Senior Special Educational Needs Educator equips me with a unique interdisciplinary lens for designing and implementing responsive, individualized interventions.

My professional repertoire includes leading Inclusion Departments, conducting psychoeducational assessments, formulating intervention plans, and facilitating therapeutic support with demonstrable positive outcomes. I am certified in ADOS-2 (Modules 1–4 and Toddler), the SCERTS Model for autistic learners, Applied Behaviour Analysis (KHDA), and Therapeutic Play Skills. In addition, I hold advanced certifications in child protection, safeguarding, and digital safety for SENCOs in international contexts.

I advocate for a collaborative, systems-based model of inclusion, working in close partnership with educators, therapists, school leaders, and families to co-construct adaptive, student-centered learning environments. Through regular multi-agency collaboration, I ensure that support strategies are coherent, sustainable, and embedded within the daily life of the school.

My commitment extends beyond the classroom, as I actively contribute to whole-school capacity building through professional learning workshops, inclusive co-teaching models, and strategic policy input. I am particularly passionate about fostering psychological safety, emotional regulation, and learner agency through play-based therapeutic modalities and strength-based approaches.

Supporting young children continues to be a deeply fulfilling vocation. Their inherent resilience and capacity for growth inspire my practice each day. I look forward to continuing my journey at GEMS Metropole, championing inclusion and equity while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students and their families.
