Ciara Creevy
Alternative Curriculum Teacher
Hello, my name is Ciara Creevy and I'm from Donegal, a county in the northwest of Ireland. I'm very excited to be joining GEMS Metropole as an Alternative Provision Teacher.
Before moving to Dubai, I worked in the private sector for a number of years. However, I always knew that teaching was my true passion. In 2022, I completed my Professional Masters in Education with Hibernia College, graduating with first-class honours in both my teaching placements and overall degree. Since then, I have worked in a range of diverse schools in Dublin, gaining valuable experience across various educational settings.
I relocated to Dubai in the summer of 2024 to begin my international teaching journey and have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the UAE so far the sunshine is certainly a welcome change from Ireland’s usual rain! Over the past year, I’ve been working as an Inclusion Teacher in an outstanding SEND provision at Kings’ School Nad Al Sheba, supporting both primary and secondary students. My role has focused on working with EAL learners, as well as students with ASD, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, and other additional needs. I have also supported the development of IEPs and PSPs, and collaborated closely with teachers to embed inclusive strategies in the mainstream classroom. I am currently the Dyslexia Lead and was part of the Inclusion Team that recently earned the British Dyslexia Accreditation.
I absolutely love teaching and building meaningful relationships with my students. It’s an incredibly fulfilling and rewarding career, and I take great pride in watching my students grow and thrive. I would describe my teaching style as creative, inclusive, and progressive.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hiking at the weekends and spending time in nature. I also love reading, music, and travelling I’m always eager to explore new places and learn about different cultures and traditions.
I’m really looking forward to this new chapter and to work with the amazing team at GEMS Metropole. I’m delighted to be part of your child’s learning journey and to contribute to the continued success of GEMS incredible Inclusion Team.
