Eeman Syed

Student Governor (Student Voice)

My name is Syeda Eeman and I am excited to introduce myself as the head girl for the current academic year. This will be my fifth and final year at Metropole and I have had the opportunity to interact with a large part of the incredible school community. Throughout my time here, I have had the privilege to lead and participate in numerous initiates, witnessing the school’s growth firsthand and am committed to launching new initiates and serving as a dedicated voice for the student body.

Beyond academics, I enjoy taking on roles which allow me to empower other students and introduce new initiates and that has led me to become the President and Founder of Girl Up, a United Nations foundation focused on empowering the youth to reach their full potential. In this role, I lead over 60 students in organizing initiatives around the school and UAE, including our very own podcast, workshops and awareness days and a nationwide conference that we will be hosting soon. Sustainability is something that I am incredibly passionate about, andI am the Co-Founder of MTS Walks, our own and first of its kind sustainable student-led fashion show, where we as students take steps mitigate fast fashion by up cycling end of life fabrics and auctioning them to raise money for charities around the world, which has been an incredible success and grown substantially over the past 3 years.

I am committed to utilizing the skills I have learnt to making this school a better place for students and working to the best of my abilities with Bernardo to ensure that everyone feels comfortable, respected and heard and to foster a culture of mutual respect and leadership around the community.
