Benjamin Jepson

Head of Physical Education

My name is Ben Jepson, I’m proud to be the Head of PE at GEMS Metropole, where I’ve been teaching for the past two years. Before moving to Dubai, I spent two fantastic years teaching in Manchester, which helped shape my passion for delivering high-quality, engaging PE experiences for all students. Last year I was the Achievement Co-ordinator in PE, focusing on raising progress attainment for our most talented students in KS4 and KS5 academic courses.

Physical Education not only provides students with opportunities to experience a wide range of sports and physical activities but also equips them with the tools to develop and maintain lifelong healthy habits. It fosters resilience and perseverance, giving each individual a positive outlook for their future. I am incredibly passionate about providing students with the teaching tools to ensure they progress throughout their learning journey. I firmly believe in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, offering students the chance not only to reach their potential but to surpass it.

Outside of school, I enjoy socialising with friends, staying active in the gym, and keeping a close eye on how my football team, Stockport County FC, are getting on! I also have a passion for cooking and love exploring new places whenever I get the chance to travel.

I am incredibly enthusiastic about the future of GEMS Metropole. We have an excellent team in PE who are all committed to achieving success for our students, both within the curriculum and the High-Performance Institute!
