Christine Mathias

ELL HLTA

Hello, my name is Christine, and I am excited to begin my third year at GEMS Metropole. This year, I am delighted to be joining the ELL team, where I look forward to contributing my skills and experiences to support our diverse community of learners.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Diploma in Education, and I bring with me over 8 years of teaching experience across India, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. These opportunities have allowed me to work with students from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, which has enriched both my teaching practice and my personal outlook. I am deeply passionate about fostering creativity and cultivating an engaging classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore, question, and express themselves. I believe strongly in the importance of inclusive education and strive to ensure that every student feels valued, respected, and capable of success.

I am deeply passionate about fostering creativity and cultivating an engaging classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore, question, and express themselves. I believe strongly in the importance of inclusive education and strive to ensure that every student feels valued, respected, and capable of success. By celebrating the unique strengths and cultural diversity each learner brings, I aim to create a classroom atmosphere that is not only academically enriching but also personally meaningful for students.

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the idea that learning should inspire curiosity and confidence. I enjoy using interactive, student-centered approaches that make lessons dynamic and enjoyable, while also challenging students to reach their full potential. Seeing students grow not only in their academic abilities but also in their confidence and love for learning is what motivates me most as an educator.

Outside the classroom, I find joy in creative pursuits such as sewing and baking. Sewing allows me to express precision and artistry, while baking brings me the satisfaction of creating something that can be shared and enjoyed by others. These hobbies mirror my teaching approach, as both require patience, creativity, and a willingness to experiment and learn from every experience.
