Reem Yassin

Speech and Language Therapist

Hello, I’m Reem Yassin, a Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) at GEMS Metropole School, Motor City, as part of the GEMS LINK programme, which supports children with speech, language, and communication needs across the school.

I am a bilingual (English/Arabic) SaLT with extensive experience in assessing and treating communication and feeding disorders in children. I have worked in hospitals, schools, and specialized clinics across Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, and the UAE, collaborating closely with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, teachers, pediatricians, and psychiatrists to provide a holistic approach to therapy.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy and a Master of Research in Neuropsychology from Lebanese University. My expertise includes working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children with developmental language delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, apraxia of speech, stuttering, and pediatric dysphagia. I specialize in developing individualized treatment plans and leading parent training programs to support early intervention and maximize progress.

To enhance my practice, I have completed specialized training in the Orton-Gillingham Approach for dyslexia, becoming a certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner accredited by OG Canada. I am also trained in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for apraxia, the “More Than Words” program for children with ASD, and feeding and swallowing therapy for infants and neonates. Additionally, I am certified in autism diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2 and RITA-T, as well as the Lidcombe Program for fluency disorders.

I am committed to using evidence-based strategies, including play-based therapy, structured teaching methods, and family-centered approaches, to help students reach their full potential.
