Debbie Simpson

Assistant Headteacher of Primary

Debbie Simpson is delighted to be starting her third year at Gems Metropole as Assistant Headteacher. After earning a Bachelor of Education degree from Paisley University, Scotland, in 2000, she has dedicated her career to teaching primary children across all year group levels, developing a deep understanding of the unique needs of each school phase.

With 24 years of teaching and leadership experience, Debbie has held various leadership roles, including Subject Lead, Head of Year, and Deputy Headteacher. She is thrilled to continue her leadership journey as Assistant Headteacher, where she is excited to challenge, engage, and instill a love for learning in all students. Her focus is on fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills at every level, ensuring that each child's learning journey is supported and nurtured.

Debbie is a firm believer in the High Performance Learning (HPL) philosophy, having witnessed firsthand the transformative power it offers students to become masters of their own learning.

As an HPL trainer, she is passionate about creating positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom experiences that lead to high-impact learning and accelerated student progress. Her greatest joy comes from watching children’s confidence grow and witnessing their 'aha' moments as they embrace their potential as learners.

Beyond the classroom, Debbie values the importance of supporting parents and developing positive community relationships. She believes that every child matters and is committed to ensuring that each student feels valued and supported.

In her spare time, Debbie loves to travel, read, swim, and engage in various arts and crafts, including diamond painting.

Debbie is extremely passionate about teaching and learning, and she strives to create an environment where every child feels included, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. She looks forward to working closely with parents and the broader community to continue building a nurturing and dynamic educational experience for all students
