Andrew Meadows
Teacher of PE & Head of Boys Basketball
My name is Mr. Meadows, and I am delighted to be a member of the GEMS Metropole community as a Teacher of Physical Education. I joined the Gems community in August 2022 where I moved to Dubai from the northwest of England.
Previously, I have been able to develop my skills as a teacher in various roles, such as a college Sports Tutor, Primary and Secondary cover teacher, sports degree mentor, sports coach and a fitness instructor. After 3 years at GEMS Metropole, I have continued to develop in my teaching journey through delivering and assessing core PE, BTEC PE and various coaching roles.
Sports, health, and well-being have always been a passion of mine as they bring together the best of both personal challenge and community connection.
I’m drawn to the competitive nature of sport, which pushes people to grow and reach their potential, while also valuing the inclusive environment it promotes - welcoming individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. It brings me great pleasure to be able to work in the Gems Metropole community and deliver these aspects alongside a great staff team and curriculum within Physical Education.
In my spare time I take part in and spectate a variety of sports, mainly Rugby and Football. I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, using the gym and keeping up a healthy(ish) diet. I also enjoy cooking, travelling and experiencing new countries and cultures around the world.
I am very excited and motivated to continue into this next year of my career and be a part of the flourishing establishment that is GEMS Metropole School!
