Gary Saunt

My name is Mr. Saunt, and I am proud to be the Head of Physical Education at GEMS Metropole School. I started working at GEMS Metropole in February 2021, having already made the move to Dubai and been part of the GEMS network since August 2018. Before relocating to Dubai, I taught in London, UK, where I gained valuable experience in various roles, including Head of Key Stage 4, Head of Year, and Head of Boys' Rugby. 

Physical Education not only provides students with opportunities to experience a wide range of sports and physical activities but also equips them with the tools to develop and maintain lifelong healthy habits. It fosters resilience and perseverance, giving each individual a positive outlook for their future. I am incredibly passionate about providing students with the teaching tools to ensure they progress throughout their learning journey. I firmly believe in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, offering students the chance not only to reach their potential but to surpass it. 

I enjoy traveling and exploring Dubai with its rich culture. To keep myself fit and healthy, I regularly go to the gym and have recently started taking golf lessons. I am enjoying exploring the various courses that Dubai has to offer. 

I am incredibly enthusiastic about the future of GEMS Metropole. The school is flourishing and growing, driven by an exciting and ambitious team committed to its continued success.
