Yassar Hussain

Diversity, Equity, Emiratisation and Inclusion Lead

Yassar originates from Halifax, England, and brings with him a background rooted in discipline and service, having served honourably in the Royal Air Force. His educational journey began with a BA Honours degree and a PGCE obtained at the University of Huddersfield, shaping his passion for teaching and learning.

Following his time in West Yorkshire schools, Yassar embarked on an international journey, relocating to Qatar in 2014. It was here that he expanded his horizons, completing his MA in Education at the University of Nottingham while immersing himself in diverse cultural experiences.

Yassar's pursuit for professional growth led him to Saudi Arabia, where he assumed various leadership roles and positions within the education sector, concurrently pursuing his NPQH. His dedication to excellence and leadership culminated in a move to Dubai in August 2022.

Now settled in Dubai, Yassar proudly serves as the DEEI Lead at GEMs Metropole, a role that resonates deeply with his values of inclusivity and belonging. Here, he diligently ensures that students, staff, and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds feel valued and supported within the school community. 

Yassar's journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to education, diversity, equity, and inclusion. As he continues to make a positive impact in the lives of those around him, his dedication to fostering a more inclusive world remains unwavering.
