Sean Dennis

Head of Prep School

Sean was born and raised in London, England, and from a young age was hugely passionate about sport and fascinated by its impact to drive positive change in young people and communities. Sean decided to apply his interest through studying Physical Education at the University of Brighton. In 2008, he graduated with a BA Hons with QTS and soon after secured his first teaching post.

He joined an Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ comprehensive school in Newham, East London, and served the local community for 7 years. During that time, he won the London Schools Cup as an NQT, established a football academy, led Key Stage 3 PE, and was appointed a regional representative for Youth Sports Trust, rolling out Olympic legacy initiatives across the capital.

In 2015, he moved to Qatar with his wife to join an educational group in Doha. Over the course of 6 years, he served as a Head of PE and Swimming, Subject Lead across 3 schools, and was subsequently promoted to Deputy Head of Primary and Secondary School and accreditation lead for WASC (Western Association for Schools and Colleges).

Outside of education, he co-founded Feed a Friend, a grassroots initiative established to address food insecurity by supporting individuals and families in financial hardship with a monthly supply of staple food. Since 2020, they have helped feed in excess of 30,000 individuals. Aside from philanthropy work, Sean loves to spend quality time with his wife and 2 kids, delve into non-fiction literature, study his faith, and train Ju Jitsu.

Sean is proud to lead the efforts in establishing an ‘Active School’ at GEMS Metropole, allowing him to combine his passion for sport, the arts, and community outreach. He envisions the cultivation of young people who are actively engaged in school, their home, and society, excelling both academically and socially.
