Martin Boother
Assistant Headteacher of Secondary
My name is Mr. Martin Boother and I joined the GEMS Metropole family in the 2021/22 academic year as Assistant Head with responsibility for the Sixth Form. I am very excited about this chapter in my life and career as I moved with my family from Shanghai back to the UAE (where I spent three years as Associate Assistant Head in Abu Dhabi) to the amazing Emirate of Dubai.
In the past, I have been fortunate to work with BTEC, IBDP and A-Level courses and I feel this experience will enable me to take the best of each and help your children (young adults) on the next step of their educational journey. I feel very fortunate to be working with the talented and dedicated staff already at Metropole and the phenomenal students and I would like to take this opportunity to let you all know that I will be working tirelessly to ensure each and every one of our students has the opportunity to excel.
I feel privileged to be a part of the GEMS Metropole family and I know the significance of the word family. I can clearly see that the Metropole community is a big family and indeed family is something very important to me as well. I have moved with my wife, two children (one of whom is in Year 13 now) and two beautiful golden retrievers and we are loving being a part of the Metropole community. I have been working in education in a variety of countries and have held various positions including being part of the Secondary Leadership Team, Head of Department and much more. I aim to bring all of my experience together and work with and empower my new colleagues to continue the excellent work already being done. Our 6th Form is amazing and I know with hard work and collaboration between staff, students and families it will continue to excel.
I would love the chance to meet with as many of you as possible as I feel it is essential to build those relationships with our community. I am contactable via e-mail but am also happy to chat over the phone or face to face. I am always happy to hear from parents, as a strong relationship between school and home is vital for our students’ success.
